Moving Data in PostgreSQL

In this course, we will discuss moving data in Amazon Aurora and Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) PostgreSQL.

There are many ways to move data in and out of PostgreSQL. You can use the COPY command and common utilities such as Foreign Data Wrappers (FDWs), Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) import, and pgloader.

In this course, we will discuss moving data in Amazon Aurora and Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) PostgreSQL.

After completing this course, you should be able to:

  • Describe how to use the COPY command to move data in and out of PostgreSQL.
  • Describe the use of FDWs to move data.
  • Identify the movement of data using Amazon S3 import functionality.
  • Explain how to move data using the pgloader utility.
