    Hi!

On Question 2 of Review Set 1:

In what two situations can the Azure AI Document Intelligence service be employed?

Each accurate selection provides a comprehensive solution. (Select TWO)

    Correct answers are:

Analyze and extract data from insurance claim forms.

Locate an image of a product in a product catalog.

Can you explain why Determine the seller’s identity from a sales receipt. ? It is mentioned on the documentation that the “Use the receipt model to scan sales receipts for the merchant name,
dates, line items, quantities, and totals from printed and handwritten
    receipts.”
    (link).

    Isn’t the merchant’s name = seller identity?

    Thank you

    Hi Fabio,

Thank you for the thoughtful question. This is a great catch, and we completely understand why it’s confusing!

You’re absolutely right that Azure AI Document Intelligence’s prebuilt Receipt model can extract the merchant name from a sales receipt. However, the key distinction in this question lies in the phrasing: “Determine the seller’s identity.”

Extracting a merchant name (e.g., “Walmart” or “Starbucks”) is data extraction — which Document Intelligence does well. But determining a seller’s identity implies a deeper level of verification or identification, such as confirming who the seller actually is, validating their credentials, or resolving their identity from ambiguous or incomplete information. That goes beyond what Document Intelligence is designed to do and would require additional services such as entity recognition, custom business logic, or identity verification tools.

Think of it this way: reading a name off a receipt ≠ identifying who that person or entity truly is.

That said, thank you for flagging this — we’ve gone ahead and updated the explanation to make this distinction more explicit, and it will be reflected on the portal soon!

Hope that clears things up! Feel free to reach out if you have more questions. Good luck on your AI-900! 🎯

    Cheers,

    Irene @ Tutorials Dojo

      Hi Irene,

Thank you for the clarification. However, I am confused, the question showed up again and now the Determine the seller’s information from a sales receipt. option is the correct one?

      Could you clarify again?

      Thank you,

      Fabio

        Hi Fabio,

Thank you so much for following up, and we sincerely apologize for the confusion this has caused!

You’re right to be puzzled. The question did change, and we want to be fully transparent about what happened.

Our original version of the question had an error in one of the correct answers. After an internal review, our team corrected both the answer choices and the wording of Option 4 (from “seller’s identity” to “seller’s information”) to better reflect what Azure AI Document Intelligence actually does.

So to set the record straight, the current correct answers are:

✅ Analyze and extract data from insurance claim forms

✅ Determine the seller’s information from a sales receipt

The prebuilt Receipt model in Azure AI Document Intelligence does indeed extract merchant/seller information such as names, dates, and totals — so “seller’s information” is a valid use case. Our earlier explanation about “seller’s identity” was based on the old, incorrect version of the question, and we should have communicated that change more clearly. That’s on us!

We truly appreciate your patience, and for flagging this, feedback like yours is exactly what helps us keep our review materials accurate and trustworthy. We’ve noted this thread to ensure the explanation on the portal is fully aligned with the updated question.

Wishing you all the best on your AI-900 exam! You’ve clearly got a sharp eye for detail, that’ll serve you well. 🎯

        Warm regards,

        Irene @ Tutorials Dojo

          Hi Irene,

Thank you for the response, I’m glad we’ve aligned on this and it’s clear now. Keep up the good work!
