  • Course review can’t be approved and show up unless it is good

I posted a 3-star honest review, it never got approved and never show up. In my review, I listed several issues I experienced while taking the practice test. If you think it is not accurate or lack of understanding, you can respond/explain, why suppress it? If you only allow perfect reviews, then your course review is not accurate, does not mean anything. I bought my tests from you based on the good reviews, I feel cheated. After all, that is my actual experience, I did not make it up, several others reported the same/similar issues. To be honest, I also bought tests from Whizlabs and First Attempt, did not experience any issues. This is the first time I experience the suppression of my review, of course I rarely write any unfavorable review unless feel the need.

    Hi Aiqing,

We actually responded to your questions in this thread:

    https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/forums/discussion/site-is-unusable/

You are claiming that your course review “cannot be approved” and show up unless it is “good“. We take strong allegations like this quite seriously and we are here to debunk your claim.

First and foremost, this is the review you shared on our AWS Certified Security Specialty SCS-C02 practice exams with 3 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️:

There are a few issues with the test:

    1. Timing for timed test is not working when I tried.

    2. Can’t review past test results.

    3. Completed tests are not marked as completed.

    4. Site is very slow some times.

    5. Can’t see my own review, because it is only a 3-star instead of 5?

You are accusing us of blocking user reviews when in fact, you can see several 3 star reviews on the very same SCS-C02 practice exams

reviewer you’re taking, and even on our other reviewers. This can be proven by going at the bottom part of the course and filtering the reviews by stars:

    https://media.tutorialsdojo.com/3-star-review-scs-c02.jpg

There’s even a negative review with 3 stars that says:

“Team, These Q&As not sufficient at all, there were more questions on amazon detective, route 53 and all were really in depth. Would be great if we can change first Cloudwatch as Eventbridge in all the Q&As, thats how it appears in the exams. You might have to atleast double the Scenario based Q&As. And the exam is super tough even after going the docs, doing demos and reading the cheat sheats. Cleared in second attempt.”

That’s a bad review on our part but we did publish it, contrary to your claim. This is because the review is honest and it was true that 2 years ago, we don’t have much questions on Amazon Detective, Route 53 DNSSEC and other newer AWS services/features.

As I said, we have already explained the issues to you on this thread, but it seems that you keep insisting on your opinions despite all our efforts. We hold the right not to publish biased and unfair comments/reviews on our platform, just like what you’ve submitted. Here’s the link again and I’ll share here what we told you days ago:

    Site is unusable

    1. Timing for timed test is not working when I tried.

The timer for the Timed test is actually working in contrast to what you are claiming. You’re just confused that there’s “Resume Quiz” functionality, which allows you to continue your exam where you left off, which also resumes the remaining time left for the quiz.

    2. Can’t review past test results.

That’s a false statement. You can definitely review your past test results on your My Dashboard and Course pages. As mentioned above, there are 5 places in our portal where you can view your past exam attempts such as in the Instructional page, FAQ and in the Quiz Result page.

    When confronted, you replied that:

It should be easily accessible and obvious, if everyone has to read your instruction page to know how to access it, it needs the change then.

The My Dashboard page is actually just one click away on the left-hand menu, and the course page only takes 2 clicks. These pages are easily accessible and again, there’s a GIF in the Quiz Result page showing you how to access it.

    3. Completed tests are not marked as completed.

This system behavior is deliberate and not even a bug. The quizzes must be passed before being tagged as completed, as the majority of people will just have a false sense of confidence that they have “completed” the review even though it is not done wholly. That’s also the same format as the AWS Skill Builder and other learning platforms.

To prove this, you can go to any new course on https://skillbuilder.aws/ and navigate to its Quiz/Assessment part and you will see that the lesson won’t be tagged as completed if you were not able to pass the test.

    4. Site is very slow some times.

There were incidents back in January and July of slow response times, but that has already been resolved. People can see our public status page to check the latency: status.tutorialsdojo.com

You haven’t shared the specific times when it was sluggish, and it could also be caused by a cacophony of factors such as your Internet, cloud service provider errors, browser plugins, etc.

This can also be proven on http://slack.tutorialsdojo.com, where the majority of our users are raising issues at the #general-discussions channel for slow site performance. As I said, there was an issue back in July 24 which was immediately esolved and no user has reported any service degradation after that. Same goes for the month of August and it is now September.

These are the reasons why we are not yet publishing your course review, as most of your issues have not been proven true, as stated above. Please take note that we practice a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation on our staff.

Posting a thread like this, portraying us in a bad light even though most of your claims are false and that we have already given all the support/explanation necessary, is something we do not tolerate.

    Regards,

    Jon Bonso @ Tutorials Dojo

First of all, you did block my review. If you think it is unfair or biased, you can debunk there instead of here. Be transparent, true or false, good or bad, let everyone see, they will make their own judgement and decision. Not sure if you are in the USA, check every website, every product review here, reviews are complete, 0 to 5 stars all inclusive. I wrote 2 unfavorable reviews before, never got blocked.

Second, since I bought the tests from other vendors as well, I might have expected this will work similar to others. If I am wrong or lack of understanding, you can correct me or explain, thus in case other people have the same assumption, with your explaining, they will know.

    1. As to completed vs passed categorization, I’ve never tried AWS’s skill builder, all platforms I tried work differently from yours. Use Passed/Failed may better avoid the confusion, since I just finished the test, but the website still show the way before I take the test, that really confused me at first.

    2. As to the timing for the timed test, it did not work as expected when I tried, I was really surprised and frustrated at the time, that is why I still remember it and that is why it came on my list first. I did not say it did not work at all, I just said it did not work as expected when I tried.

    3. Can’t review past result is that at the time I only clicked the link in the course section, where after clicked the link, the only option is start quiz. I did not realize in the progress section, there is an option to view the past result.

    4. Site is in indeed slow some times, the most recent one is when loading the notifications, it kept loading and loading, not the speed I expected.

How can an honest unfavorable review be bullying, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation? As I said before, you can debunk, be transparent, true or false, good or bad, let everyone see, they will make their own judgement and decision. Whether you blocked other people’s unfavorable review or not, I don’t know, at least you blocked mine, and I did not see any reviews below 3 stars.

    Hi Aiqing,

Our goal is to help you pass your AWS certifications, and having this conversation will affect your performance on your upcoming exam. If you’re unhappy with the product, you may ask for a refund, and I’ll ask my team to process it ASAP.

We know how product review works in the US, Australia (where I am a citizen of), and other parts of the globe. Let me shed light on this issue once more.

“First of all, you did block my review…”

    • There’s a filter for spam and for specific reviews such as yours making false claims that certain features were not working as expected.
    • We are also selling our products on Amazon US, and the platform can remove biased/false reviews.

“Not sure if you are in the USA, check every website, every product review here, reviews are complete, 0 to 5 stars all-inclusive”

    • Like the screenshot of several 3-star reviews we shared earlier, we publish negative reviews that are genuinely true and have a technical basis.
    • Our platform is not perfect but when a certain feature is labelled as “buggy” when it is not, that’s where we reach out to our customers.

US companies filter and remove reviews just like what we do. See Udemy and Amazon Custom Review links below:

    https://support.udemy.com/hc/en-us/articles/360007512353-When-is-a-Negative-Review-Against-Udemy-Policy

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=G3UA5WC5S5UUKB5G

That is why there’s a “Flag Review” features on Udemy, Amazon and other platforms:

    https://media.tutorialsdojo.com/amazon_review.jpg

“…I did not see any reviews below 3 stars.”

“Course review can’t be approved and show up unless it is good”

    • The 3-star reviews can be viewed by clicking the “Filtered By” field as shown below https://media.tutorialsdojo.com/scs-c02-review.jpg
    • Once again, these statements are all false, as mentioned in my previous reply which is why your review is withheld.

“How can an honest unfavorable review be bullying, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation”

    • Is it honest saying “I did not see any reviews below 3 stars.” when in fact, there were actually 3-star reviews published on the site?
    • Just like when you said, you cannot view your past test results when there are 5 places where you can see them and view how to access them.

Once again, if you’re unhappy with the product, you may ask for a refund, and I’ll ask my team to process it as soon as possible. I apologize if my responses are quite stern and have caused uneasiness on your part.

Wishing you all the best in your career.

    Regards,

    Jon Bonso

    P.S.

I’m based in Australia and have been to the States many times. The customer review process is also the same in Australia. Everyone has a “fair go” for both the consumer and the seller.

Aiqing, I haven’t experienced any bug on the quiz timer for the quizzes and also don’t have any issues accessing the previous tests and reviewing them. The online training on our company also have the same setting where I need to pass all quizzes before it is labelled as “COMPLETE” and that’s been the way for modern training modules I’ve experienced.

I’m also in the US and like Jon said, there’s a report button where you can flag user reviews. Same thing like on Facebook where you can report biased posts. The trigger I think is on your 5th item where you accuse that your review isn’t showing because it is 3 stars.

There’s a filter for reviews per star on the course page with 3 and 4 stars so not seeing them isn’t TD’s fault but yours.

Does TD has an external/3rd-party status page to verify if the site is indeed slow or the latency is caused on my local network?

I’m preparing for my AIF-C01 and MLA-C01 exams and so far, I have not encountered those issues raised by Aiqing like the slow performance, the timer problem or viewing past test results. I live several miles from the city so my Internet speed can fluctuate at times, but I want to make sure that the issue isn’t on my side.
