Hello,
I would like to draw your attention to the attached screenshots. This is in regards to a Review Mode Practice Exam Set 1. My first attempt was on February 25th, and 2nd attempt on March 5th. In my first attempt, the right answer was “Sync Read Replica”, and on my 2nd attempt the correct shows “Export the RDS database in S3”.
This discrepancy really puts my final preparation in jeopardy since I am not sure the accuracy of the answers across all sections.
Can you please advise?
Regards,

Hello abbasali31,
We apologize for the confusion. This particular item along with its options and explanation was updated quite recently. There was a mistake in how the question was worded and the provided answer. The option that says “Sync a year’s worth of data on an Amazon RDS Read Replica” is technically incorrect because you can’t select a subset of data to be copied in RDS Read Replica. When you say Read Replica, it means that the whole Primary RDS instance is replicated. Additionally, RDS isn’t suited for analytical workloads of data that are terabytes in size. A columnar database is more fitted for that use case, hence, why Redshift is the answer.
Again, we’re sorry for any inconvenience it might have caused you. If you have any other queries, don’t hesitate to post them on this forum. Also, you can check and track the updates that were made on the Data Analytics practice exam here:

Hello abbasali,
We don’t have that functionality yet but it’s actually a great idea. We’ll try to consider that feature to improve the user experience.
Thanks,
Carlo
