Inspector Scans

I was reviewing this question about inspector scans and I don’t think you need the inspector agent installed to be able to perform scans.

for example when I use ec2-image builder I install the ssm agent and do inspector scans. I do not need anything other than that.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Yes, you are right. The option in the question is actually referring to Amazon Inspector Classic, which required the Amazon Inspector agent to be installed on the instances. However, as you mentioned, the newer version of Amazon Inspector leverages the SSM agent for performing scans, eliminating the need for installing Amazon Inspector agent.
