Many questions are outdated or ask about outdated features
-
First, let me start off by a short disclaimer: I am an experienced DevOps engineer using AWS for many years now.
I never officially got any certifications besides the practitioner years ago, so I decided to speedrun the exams by simply training using mock exams and questions.
I encountered many questions with outdated screenshots or even worse: questions about outdated terminology or features and I’m really trying to understand whether it’s also outdated on the official exam and your mock questions are correct or you seriously need to update some content here.
Moreover, for such questions I find myself having to question myself, my experience and waste time googling to make sure I am not wrong because the questions & answers are themselves the faulty ones.
Here is an example question:
Category: CSAA – Design High-Performing Architectures
A company plans to design a highly available architecture in AWS. They have two target groups with three EC2 instances each, which are added to an Application Load Balancer. In the security group of the EC2 instance, you have verified that port 80 for HTTP is allowed. However, the instances are still showing out of service from the load balancer.
What could be the root cause of this issue? The issue with the question: ‘out of service’ is a status of classic load balancers and is not used by app load balancers for many years now (if it ever even used to).
So, while I see this as a quality issue I can overcome with my experience, I find it highly unprofessional for students new to this field trying to navigate through the misleading material you provide them and have no real source of feedback to tell them some questions do not represent the actual exam material and will only cause confusion and discourage them while studying.
You seriously have to update your content.
