Practice exam answer is incorrect

One of the questions mentions a legacy application on Amazon EC2 in a private subnet of its Amazon VPC and company network is peered with the AWS Direct Connect (DX) connection to connection to the private EC2 instances inside the VPC.

Shouldn’t the answer be using a Private VIF as it is connecting to a private resource?
