Also this question has the incorrect answer, if you go to the answer it shows you that it security groups and M365 Groups. While doing this question, I remember thinking that SalesTeam, ProjectAlpha and Contractors should be the correct answer.

Hi noneofya999,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! You are absolutely right that Microsoft’s official terminology uses “invite” when adding external users in Microsoft Entra ID, as reflected in the admin center UI and documentation.
We appreciate your keen eye for detail — we have since updated the question and explanation to use the correct terminology, replacing instances of “create” with “invite” where appropriate. This ensures the content stays aligned with Microsoft’s official language and provides a more accurate learning experience.
Thanks again for helping us improve our content! If you have any other feedback or concerns, feel free to reach out.
Cheers,

Hi Irene,
This question is also incorrect, PTA does not handle synchronization of passwords, Pass Through Authentication only allows for the authentication to occur on premises.
Does not synchronize passwords in hybrid environments
Does Pass Through Authentication Synchronize Passwords in Hybrid Environments?

Here is the question in mind. Only the distribution group can’t be assigned, because a distribution group is used for email. The Dynamic group can’t be created unless you have an Entra ID Premium account. So it is implied that there is a Premium account for the question and Salesteam, ProjectAlpha and Contractors can be assigned permissions to the application.
This is from Gemini.
To assign access to the enterprise application <b data-path-to-node=”0″ data-index-in-node=”47″>TD-Portal, you can use group types that support security-based assignments in Microsoft Entra ID.
Based on the groups provided, here is the breakdown of which ones can be assigned:Name,Type,Can be Assigned?,Reason
TD-SalesTeam,Security Group,Yes,Standard security groups are the primary method for assigning access to enterprise apps.
TD-Announcements,Distribution Group,No,Distribution groups are for email routing only; they are not security-enabled and cannot be used for application assignments.
TD-ProjectAlpha,Microsoft 365 Group,Yes,M365 groups are security-enabled by default and can be assigned to applications.
TD-Contractors,Dynamic Membership Group,Yes,”Dynamic groups (whether Security or M365) are fully supported for app assignment, provided you have a Microsoft Entra ID P1 or P2 license.”-
Hi noneofya999,
Thank you for raising this concern! You’re absolutely right that the group type for TD-Contractors needed clarification. We have updated it to a Mail-enabled Security Group, which more accurately reflects a non-assignable group type for enterprise application assignments in Microsoft Entra ID.
The changes will be reflected on the portal shortly. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us maintain the accuracy and quality of our content!
Best regards,
