Question problem in Review Mode Set 3 – AZ-900 Azure Fundamentals
-
(If anyone is reading in the future, I was just ignorant)
Not sure if this question is poorly worded or if I am just ignorant. I want to be sure though as I will want to know for when I take the real exam. Here is the question below along with the picture from the Review showing the correct answer.
Question:
Category: AZ-900 – Describe Azure Management and Governance
You need to execute a command using Azure Cloud Shell.
Which Azure management tool will you use?
— I chose “Azure Command-Line Interface (CLI)”. The correct answer was “Azure Portal”.
To me this is like if some said “What tool do you use to eat with?” and I said, “Silverware”. Then they said, no “The dining room” because you need to go to the dining room first to then use the silverware. So, should I keep expecting questions like this for the real Exam?

Hello astroweasels,
The expected answer is Azure Portal because the question is asking which Azure management tool you would use to access and execute commands through Azure Cloud Shell, rather than which command-line language/tool runs inside Cloud Shell. Azure Cloud Shell can be launched from the Azure Portal, and once it is open, you can use either Azure CLI or Azure PowerShell within that environment.
Take note that there are questions in the actual Azure exam that are difficult, tricky, and ambiguous. You have to be prepared to look for specific keywords or key phrases in order to find the most suitable answer. This is the style that we are trying to mimic in our practice tests. Some of the questions do not explicitly show the obvious keywords or phrases that will easily point to the answer.
Let us know if you need further assistance.

Thank you for getting back on this!
The question says, “You need to execute a command using Azure Cloud Shell. Which Azure management tool will you use?”, which in plain English does not say or imply we are talking about access, but execution. Perhaps the bigger hint was that I could only pick one answer and if it just meant execution, then CLI and PowerShell would both be correct. Even so, I trust you and it is very good to know that I will see questions like this on the real Exam, which is why I am grateful for this website. Thanks again! 🙂
