Question regarding Review Mode 6, question 50

[Sing Yan Chiu]

The answer for this question is to Create a role in IAM. Afterwards, assign this role to a new EC2 instance.

My question is, why must it be a new EC2 instance? Can we just attach the role to the existing instance where the application is running?
