Timed mode test with 75 questions not saving my quiz results for AWS SA Pro , complete waste of more than 2 hrs attempting this. Please fix this, I don’t have that much time and patience to reattempt.

    Hello Nitin,

Thanks for raising this issue. We’re very sorry to hear that the results page is freezing on your screen. To help us understand and investigate the issue further, could you let us know which browser you were using and if you were continuously on the screen for the entire duration of the test?

The freezing usually happens when you lose Internet connection during the test or if the screen was left to run without any activity for a prolonged period of time. In that case, you’ll need to refresh/reload the page then login again if you were logged out of the site. If you were working on a test in Timed Mode, you can always go back and resume the test at a later time. This is documented in the Timed Mode FAQ – https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/faq-timed-mode/.

We have conducted a few tests on different locations to check if it’s an issue that keeps on happening but so far, all of our tests were successfully completed without encountering a freezing screen. For succeeding attempts, we do recommend closing other tabs, sitting through the test without leaving the screen for a prolonged time, and ensuring that you don’t lose net connection during the duration of the test. Make sure also that you do not leave the site open overnight as this will cause the session to be terminated when you use it the following day.

Do check out our FAQ page for more information on the features available on the Tutorials Dojo portal and to help you navigate through the site:

    Tutorials Dojo Portal FAQs

    I hope this helps. 🙂

I am using chrome browser and I was patiently sitting before my laptop doing the test for 2 hrs. I didnt leave it unattended and there was no internet outage. Also, I wasn’t logged out at any time. However after reading this post I tried logging out and logging in and I cannt see any of my attempts for the test. I am sure you must be having some logs on your side where you can trace it and fix it.

Hi Nitin, thanks for the message. We conducted a few tests and all of them were successfully completed without encountering this issue. Most likely, the session has already timed out when you were attempting the test. This usually happens when you leave the site open for a prolonged period of time then load a test and take it. Even if you were able to answer all questions in the test, if you didn’t start a new session, there’s always a possibility for this scenario.

Our current platform allows our users to re-authenticate sessions after 3 hours of inactivity. If you have not been doing anything on the page for 3 hours, the server will time out your session. This is done for security reasons and to help increase the overall speed of the website.

In other words, if you were taking the exam or just simply browsing the site then leave for a prolonged period of time or start browsing other pages, you will need to log in again and create a new session when you come back. The best practice is to start a new session before attempting any test, especially the long ones, to ensure that your progress will be saved. Simply reload the site, log in, select the course, and take the test.

Ran into similar issue. Completed the questions.. says – Quiz completed. Results are being recorded. Progress bar below it is about 85% complete. Able to click Finish Quiz again and gets stuck on the same the length of progress bar.

Completing AWS Soln Arch Pro Timed Mode via a Chrome browser on Mac.

      Hi Sumit,

We’re very sorry to hear that the results page is freezing on your screen. It could possibly be that your session was already terminated upon finishing the quiz.

I had the same sad issue. Ended up exam, it showed results are being recorded. Had no choice but refresh it.

It showed me no signs that I have logged out or smth, exam left with no prerecorded selected answers.

After going into practice exam pre-application home page – only then it showed that i’m not logged in.

Guys, you should really fix this thing if it was noticed more than 1 year ago. If you know that this issue could appear again, and if you don’t have any solutions right now – atleast you should inform your users before they entering exam in red words.

You made me more desperate before my exam, and it comes in 24 hours.

      Hi Jonas

Thanks for raising the issue and apologies for the inconvenience. Security should always be a top priority for any platform no matter what products or services it offers. More than anything else, that is the primary purpose of placing a warning and automatically logging off a user during prolonged periods of inactivity. That is a standard practice among all industries.

Also, kindly note that when you purchased our courses, we have specifically added a line in there asking our users to go through our FAQ page to help familiarize themselves with the features and limitations of our platform. Everything you need to know about the features on our site has been extensively documented on our FAQ page.

But that’s exactly the problem, that I turned on my computer, opened a browser without per-opened tabs and when opened this platform – I wasn’t warned about that I’m using outdated session or if my session will be over soon (If you are tracking a session time – maybe you could integrate it into if statement that if user will attend a practice exam which time is larger than session expire time, then place warning?).

When I was doing practice exam, there were no pop-ups or warnings or what so ever. When I ended up my exam – I needed to go and look for any answers why my results are not saved/calculated.

Also shouldn’t be there a warning that an application can’t reach a server or smth to save a progress and load results? Maybe you don’t have enough resources to fix these kind of problems? If yes, answer those things transparently, not by giving “security awareness” answers to the users that raised these really bad user experience problems one and a half year ago.

Exactly the same issue. It is really, really frustrating! The main point of doing the test is to be able to review the explanation of answers after the fact. Not being able to do this makes the whole system useless.

      Hi Wilmar,

You can review all previous attempts by following the instructions below:

Click “My Courses” at the top menu then select the specific course where you’d like to view your previous attempts.

Once you’ve clicked the course, you’ll see your course progress by clicking the dropdown arrow as per this screenshot.

Click the Statistics button to view your detailed results.

In the Statistics dashboard, you can filter your results by category and by correct/skipped/incorrect answers/marked for review.

Detailed explanations of why the options are correct/incorrect are found at the bottom of each question.

Alternatively, your course progress and all previous attempts are also recorded in My Dashboard. You may also refer to this link.

      I hope this helps.

      Cheers,

I’ve also experienced this once, but what I’ve experienced a lot of times is that almost 100% of times when I pause a test and then resume it later, it will start a few questions behind the one where I paused, but the questions I had previously answered are already randomly ticked. Even though I correct all the answers again, when I finish the test and review my answers, the multiple choice ones are always different from the answers I’d picked (most of the times I pick two alternatives and when I’m reviewing it the backend actually picked 4 or 5 instead).

Whenever I pause to come back later to continue, all my already answered questions are gone. I always have to start from the beginning again.

So when I have started taking a practice test, I cannot stop or I lose all answers.

Same thing has been happening to me. Every time I pause the test, nothing gets saved and I come back to a fresh test (Other than one time where the test somehow got submitted as complete at question ~30). From how I understand the directions I should be able to pause the tests and resume them at a later point. The directions even recommend logging out for extended time away from the computer. It’s frustrating enough to where I might start looking into the refund policy. Here are the directions for Timed Practice Tests stating that you can pause and resume tests later:

Important Note: Do not leave the Pause summary screen unattended for a prolonged period of time. It is best practice to exit the course, log off (if you plan to continue the test at a later time), and login again when the time comes that you want to resume the test.

You can resume your progress by clicking Resume Quiz.”

The resume quiz options has never been available. The only option I ever see is to start the same test from the beginning.

For what it is worth, I just experienced this bug moments ago taking the ‘Final Test – AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate’ exam. In my case, this is my 2nd attempt at this test. First one worked fine. I had ~10min remaining on the clock, using Microsoft Edge on Windows 10.

When I clicked “Finish Quiz” the progress made it about 10%. I waited a good 5min and pressed the button again. This time it goes to ~100% complete, but never completes.

I have repeatedly looked for the test statistics on the ‘My Courses’ dashboard, but no results have appeared. I’ve submitted a support ticket for this issue and am awaiting a response.

    Thank you,

    Dave Freeland

    Hi Everyone,

We have implemented a fix to ensure that the user session won’t expire for an entire year to avoid any abrupt interruption when taking the practice tests.

The Final Test mode can’t save the exam progress since we are trying to simulate the actual AWS exam environment. Any interruption or session expiry during the practice exam will force you to retake the test, just like in a real-world AWS exam.

Take note that if you are taking the Timed-mode or Review mode, you should be able to resume your test at any moment because there is an automated Save & Resume feature in place.

In addition, the Section-based and Topic-based tests do not have the Save & Resume functionality as well. Most of the mini-quizzes in the Section-based and Topic-based tests are short and intended to finish in a single seating. That is our technique of assisting the user to become comfortable with the actual AWS testing environment in a shorter time.

This issue should not happen anymore unless you erase your cookies while the practice test is still running; otherwise, your session will end, and your progress will be lost.

      Hi @rmchale,

May we know what specifically your issue is? Could you kindly share a screenshot, please?

This thread is about an issue where the result page is freezing upon clicking submit.

I tried posting this a few days ago but I don’t see it. Basically I had the same exact bug as Jonas Majauskas and a few of the others here. I was taking the AWS DevOps exam, my time expired when I was a little past 60 questions. I got the message “Results are being recorded” but the progress bar never finished.

I was able to work around it by logging out and back in before taking the next again, and this time it worked. I’m assuming the issue is a session token expiring or something like that. It should force you to login again if the session expires.

Guys, I spent 3 hours taking the test and didn’t get my score. It didn’t save my progress either for the answer I already entered. This is a huge waste of time. It looks like this bug has been happening for 2 years now, and yet still I lost an entire day of work because of it.

        Hi @rmchale,

Thank you for your reply. In addition to what my colleague @Cerbie.TutorialsDojo mentioned, please take note that we already implemented a fix for the user session issue last May 20, 2022.

Have you cleared your browser cookies by any chance while doing the practice test? If not, we would like to ask for the console log of your web browser so we can further investigate on our end. This is only the known cause now as to why the quiz page would freeze but nonetheless, we are here to resolve your issue.

Based on your records, we see that you have completed the Diagnostic Test, Timed Mode Set 1, and the Section-based SDLC Automation (DevOps) of our AWS Certified DevOps Professional practice test.

If the issue persist on your end, please send us an email at support@tutorialsdojo.com with a screenshot and the web console logs of your browser so we can further check on our end.

Not sure your bug fix worked. I just took a “<b style=”font-family: inherit; font-size: inherit;”>Timed Mode Diagnostic Test” for SA Pro, paused with 2 questions to go… came back 5 minutes later and it only captured my last 2 answers… super frustrating…
