Hi Jon,
Greetings!
I got the AWS Practice tests from this site and in this topic wise, domain wise are given wanted to check with you on two things quickly
1st: w.r.t. Domain wise as per the exam guide it’s as such the splits 30%, 28%, 24% , 18% for the 4 domains
and if you’ve the details w.r.t. Topic wise which are mentioned in the course which i got it will be much useful… if you’ve those details
2nd: w.r.t. approach which is generally much recommended as I am yet to start and 19th March me having my exam and thought of starting with topic wise, then domain wise then for the practice mode then final round of taking
Kindly advise! on these two
As I had read lot of discussion threads in net and most of them were recommending to take your practice tests which instills confidence and wanted to check with you on these things
Kindly advise!
Sincere Thanks!
Vijay

Hello Shekar,
Thank you for your inquiry. The specific domains highlighted in the Topic-Based mode are those that are critical in the exam. Even if a certain topic isn’t included in the Topic-Based mode, it doesn’t necessarily mean that we do not have questions relating to that topic. Taking the exam in Topic-Based mode continuously will only result in the memorization of answers.
If you want to gauge your knowledge on the different domains first, you can opt to do the section-based tests first. If you want the ability to view the answers as you go through each question then the Review Mode would be more suitable. The Timed Mode simulates the exam environment and trains your mind to answer questions under time pressure. Lastly, the Final Test randomly pulls questions across all sets to gauge your final exam readiness. Please note that the questions in the Timed Mode can also be found in all the other training modes and are just presented in a different format.
If you want to go through all the questions, you need to take the exam in Timed Mode. The other training modes are just additional features to help reinforce the concepts learned. The key to passing the AWS exam is understanding the concepts and explanations we give in our practice exams.
Therefore, we highly recommend that you also utilize the other training modes like the Timed Mode or Final Test. The sets in Timed Mode and Final Test contain a wide range of questions about each of the domains that are included in the exams. The randomization of questions somehow prevents the memorization of previous attempts and will gauge one’s thorough understanding of each service included in the exam.
I hope this helps. 🙂
