  • Retake practice exam with only incorrect questions

I have completed a practice quiz and failed. I want to retake it but I do not want to answer all of the questions in the quiz again. Can I retake a failed practice quiz containing only the questions that I answered incorrectly? I do not like the review feature because it shows the result of my selection. I prefer to simulate a retake of the quiz by thinking about the question and selecting the answers again.

    Hello Khai,

Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, retaking the test with only the questions that were answered incorrectly is not available in our portal. You will need to take the quiz again and go through all the questions. The randomization of questions somehow prevents the memorization of previous attempts and will gauge one’s thorough understanding of each service included in the exam.

If you want to gauge your knowledge on the different domains first, you can opt to do the section-based tests first. If you want the ability to view the answers as you go through each question then the Review Mode would be more suitable. The Timed Mode simulates the exam environment and trains your mind to answer questions under time pressure. Lastly, the Final Test randomly pulls questions across all sets to gauge your final exam readiness. Please note that the questions in the Timed Mode can also be found in all the other training modes and are just presented in a different format.

If you want to go through all the questions, you need to take the exam in Timed Mode. The other training modes are just additional features to help reinforce the concepts learned. The key to passing the AWS exam is understanding the concepts and explanations we give in our practice exams.

    Cheers,

I’m with you on this. If I fail 10 questions out of 75, it would be good to skip the other 65. It’s not for the sake of memorising the question but actually remembering why I got the wrong one and understanding the correct one better.

      Hi Ophintor,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I completely understand your desire to focus specifically on the questions you answered incorrectly, as revisiting those can help reinforce your understanding of the material. Unfortunately, as mentioned earlier, the practice quizzes are designed to cover all topics to ensure a comprehensive review. The randomization of questions is intended to help you avoid memorizing answers and instead focus on grasping the core concepts.

Section-based tests might be an excellent option if you prefer to concentrate on specific areas. Additionally, while the Review Mode displays the correct answers, it can still help understand why particular answers are accurate. I hope this approach helps you in preparing effectively for the exam.

Best of luck with your studies, and please feel free to reach out if you have any more questions!

      Kind regards,

      Nikee @ Tutorials Dojo
