Hello,
There’s a question about what groups can be restored 15 days after being deleted:
You have a Microsoft Entra ID tenant with the following groups:
TD1: Security group
TD2: Distribution group
TD3: M365 group
An administrator accidentally deleted the three groups on March 1, 2024.
You only found out on March 16, 2024.
For each of the following items, choose <strong data-renderer-mark=”true”>Yes if the statement is true or choose <strong data-renderer-mark=”true”>No if the statement is false. Take note that each correct item is worth one point.
Can you please specify why TD1 (the security group) cannot be restored as per your answer? The documentation (and this is also easily tested) clearly says that cloud security groups can be restored:
“When you delete a Microsoft 365 group or cloud security group in Microsoft Entra ID, the deleted group is retained but not visible for 30 days from the deletion date. This behavior is so that the group and its contents can be restored if needed. This functionality is available for Microsoft 365 groups and cloud security groups in Microsoft Entra ID. It isn’t available for distribution groups. The 30-day group restoration period isn’t customizable.”
Or are you talking about security groups being synched from on-prem? If that’s the case, I would say that this information should be added for better understanding. In the question, nowhere says about Hybrid setup or groups being synched from on-prem
