Review mode set 3, question 45

Hi!

Tutorials Dojo is a very good resource, and it has helped me a lot getting ready for the az-104 exam. But there are a few problems in the questions, as they stand today. Here is one in review mode 3, question 45. It says:

Category: AZ-104 – Monitor and Maintain Azure Resources

Your organization Azure subscription contains the following identities:
(Picture of a list of identities)

You created an alert rule and configured an action group with the notification type Email Azure Resource Manager Role, which sends an email to the Monitoring Reader role.

The Monitoring Reader role is assigned to the user, service principal and group.

Which of the following identities will receive an email notification?

My comment: The question is missing the critical piece of information about which users/groups/principals etc. actually have the “Monitoring Reader” role. Since the info is missing, the reader is left completely in the dark (left guessing).

I believe there are two issues with this question. First, it is poorly worded and many test takers (myself included) do not understand that the role is being applied to ALL users. Please reword this question.

Second, even if it explained better, I still don’t understand why only TDU3 would receive the notification. In an earlier post on this forum (https://portal.tutorialsdojo.com/forums/discussion/there-seems-to-be-some-details-missing-on-this-question/), Gerome-TutorialsDojo stated, “The other types of identities are members of AD groups and service principals. Therefore, TDU3 who is not a member of any AD group will receive an email notification.”

Please help us understand why. If TDU1 and TDU2 were also assigned the Monitoring Reader role, why would they not receive the notification? Why would the fact that TDU1 and TDU2 are members of group TDGrp1 matter?
