Hello,
For this question:
Category: CSAA – Design Cost-Optimized Architectures
A Solutions Architect needs to ensure that all of the AWS resources in Amazon VPC don’t go beyond their respective service limits. The Architect should prepare a system that provides real-time guidance in provisioning resources that adheres to the AWS best practices.
Which of the following is the MOST appropriate service to use to satisfy this task?
Answers are:
– Budgets
– Cost Explorer
– Trusted Advisor
– Inspector
While the only answer would be Trusted Advisor, this is not a real-time service. It is more an on-demand one if I’m not mistaken. IT does provide guidance on best practices though.
Can you please clarify?
Thanks,
Alex.

Hello Alex,
Thank you for your question.
You are correct that AWS Trusted Advisor operates on an on-demand basis rather than continuous, real-time monitoring. Trusted Advisor provides real-time guidance on AWS best practices when you run its checks, including insights on service limits, cost, performance, and security.
Trusted Advisor is the best option in this scenario because it provides the needed guidance on staying within service limits and following AWS best practices. You could also use Amazon CloudWatch to set up alarms on specific metrics for more frequent or real-time alerts.
I hope this helps clarify. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello Irene,
Right, but the question say “real-time” so, the answer is contradictory. I understand the fact that it addresses the best practices angle but not the real time one. Hence my question.
I believe the question should be clarified in that sense.
Thanks,
Alex.

Hi Alex,
Thank you for pointing that out. You’re correct; the reference to “real-time” in the question could make the answer appear contradictory. While it does address best practices, it may not fully align with real-time requirements as stated.
I’ve updated the question to clarify this distinction and ensure consistency between the question and the answer.
Thanks again for your feedback!
Best regards,
Irene
