But actually, a bit further down on the same page it says: “These next examples show a cluster that runs Aurora MySQL version 2.10. In this Aurora MySQL version and higher, you can reboot the writer instance without causing reboots for all the reader instances.”

So, it’s not only global database. I agree that it’s not really clear if it applies to all Aurora versions 2.10 and up.
