S3 lifecycle is a feature that automatically transition or moves your data from one storage class to another depending on the set of rules you define to a group of objects. The requirement from the scenario above mentioned that the required retrieval period should not exceed more than a day, hence in this case, you need to create a lifecycle policy to transition the data to Glacier after 0 days. The minimum days for transition only applies to S3 Standard/S3 Standard-IA to S3 Standard-IA or S3 One Zone-IA.
