To clarify the statement: “Take note that the solution in this scenario states that you will add a new inbound security rule that allows port 3389 traffic from the Internet using TCP protocol to TDSG-TDSub1 and TDSub1,” what we intended to convey is that Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP), which is used for Remote Desktop connections, runs explicitly over TCP port 3389.
The rule you created allows traffic on port 3389, and by setting the protocol to “Any” (which includes both TCP and UDP), it ensures that TCP traffic is permitted, which is the protocol required for RDP. This setup ensures that Remote Desktop connections to the virtual machine are successful.
