Just come across this question myself and had the same query. CloudFront already optimizes HTTP/S delivery globally, so why add Global Accelerator? The question also states “provide consistent performance to the users in a cost-effective way”, wouldn’t S3 Transfer acceleration be more cost-effective, as GA has a fixed hourly fee in addition to a transfer fee?
