This question is also incorrect, PTA does not handle synchronization of passwords, Pass Through Authentication only allows for the authentication to occur on premises.

Pass-Through Authentication (PTA) does not synchronize passwords in hybrid environments. Instead, it allows users to authenticate directly against the on-premises Active Directory (AD) domain controller. When a user attempts to sign in, their password is validated by the on-premises AD domain controller, and no password hashes are stored in Azure Active Directory (Azure AD). PTA keeps authentication within the on-premises environment, which may be preferred for security reasons.
