    Hi nyreeb,

Great question. The key distinction is that Amazon Route 53 can benefit from DDoS protection, but DDoS protection is provided by AWS Shield, not Route 53 itself.

DNS Resolution is correct because Route 53 is a DNS service that routes DNS queries and helps clients resolve domain names to the appropriate resources.

Domain Registration is also correct because Route 53 can register and manage domain names. AWS lists domain registration and DNS routing as core functions of the service.

For DDoS Protection, Route 53 hosted zones are automatically protected by AWS Shield Standard at no additional cost. However, AWS Shield provides the protection. Route 53 is the protected resource, not the service providing the DDoS protection.

    So the distinction is:

Route 53 → DNS resolution and domain registration
    AWS Shield → DDoS protection

    Hence, the correct answers are:

    ✅ DNS Resolution
    ✅ Domain Registration

Hope this clarifies any confusion you have. If you encounter any problems, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
