Can someone explain to me why
Assist has a stronger correlation with Fantasy points than Points ?

Assists/Points is having 0.42 as correlation factor while Assists/Fantasy Points is having 0.63.

Why is the statement Assist has a stronger correlation with Fantasy points than Points ? is wrong ?

The statement “Assists has a stronger correlation with Fantasy points than Points” is meant to compare how strongly Assists and Points individually correlate with Fantasy Points, not with each other.

So the relationships we’re looking at are: Assists-Fantasy points (0.63) and Points-Fantasy points(0.78), not Assists-Fantasy and Assists-Points.
