Guidelines on usage for the SAA Practice Exams/Course and Study Guide.

I bought the SAA Practice Exams/Course and Study Guide.
I wanted to know why the Practice Exams don’t really come with any instructions on how best to use them to prepare for the exam.
It feels a bit like: “Here’s a bunch of exams. Good luck” without any real explanation why the ordering is the way it is (ex: Timed exams first !?!). Was hoping it would have been more structured, like the video course (which is excellent)
Is there a reason for this?
Also, for “reviewing wrong answers”, you provide links to AWS official docs and your freely avaible youTube videos (which is fine) but … I bought the video courses so it’d be nice if the information I needed to review referenced *that* course.
That I paid for.
To help prepare for the exam. Was also expecting the Study Guide to be a distilled version of the video courses.
While it covers the same material, it feels more verbose that the courseware (if that makes sense ?) -
Hello Stitched,
Thank you for your inquiry and feedback. Most of our students use the Review mode first to view the answers as they go through each question immediately. Next is the Timed mode, which trains your mind to answer questions under time pressure. Then, the Final Test mode randomly generates a unique set of questions from our entire question bank to avoid memorizing the answer. Each person has different ways of reviewing, so it’s really up to you how you will use each training mode we have.
Here are the advantages of the training modes:
- The Timed Mode – simulates the exam environment and trains your mind to answer questions under time pressure. The questions in the Timed Mode can also be found in Review Mode, Section-Based, and Final Tests.
- Review Mode – allows you to view answers as you go through each question. It randomly generates a full set at every load.
- Section/Topic-Based – also allows you to view answers as you go through each question, and each set contains questions only on a specific domain/topic. There’s also a fixed number of questions here (maximum of 30 questions), and each load of the tests, it just displays the same set of questions in random order.
- Final Test – randomly pulls questions across all sets to gauge your final exam readiness.
- Bonus Flashcards – unique visual tools found at the end of the course, which will help reinforce the core concepts needed to pass the exam.
These training modes are additional features to help reinforce the concepts learned. The key to passing the exam is understanding the concepts and explanations we gave in our practice exams.
I hope this helps and do check out our FAQ page for more information on the features available on the Tutorials Dojo portal and to help you navigate through the site.
Cheers,
