Hands-on Labs for AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate SAA-C03 Course

I just started the hands-on labs for VPC’s for the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate SAA-C03 Video Course. However, the instructions in the course lab do not match the Playcloud.
For example,
* The course says the default region is US East (Ohio), but in the Playcloud my default region is US West (Oregon).
* The instructions in the lab state to select the Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region, but when I select that region, I get an error.
* The lab instructions are to change the VPC and subnet names, but the Playcloud does not allow me to change the names.
Am I doing something wrong?

Hi AKnox67,
Thank you for posting here.
If you are referring to the Hands-On Lab – Exploring the Amazon VPC Console on the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate SAA-C03 Video Course, then, you won’t be able to replicate it in the PlayCloud. The Hands-On Lab – Exploring the Amazon VPC Console is only intended to show the user how to explore the Amazon VPC Console. Also, the PlayCloud has Service Limits that limits the user to experiment with AWS Services within a certain bounds, that includes jumping from another Region from the default region configured in the PlayCloud Lab. The reason you are getting error in your end.
I hope this helps clarify your question. Thank you.Regards,

Hi!
What has me guessing is that you have some regional settings issues and, in the process, maybe some interface restrictions between labs in the AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate course and the AWS Management Console. As per user settings, the default region for your AWS account may vary, and you must have an option to update that on your own. If you do not get an option to rename the VPCs and subnets, maybe this feature of the Playcloud environment that you are using for training is not similar to the feature of the real AWS Management Console. Moreover, errors that occur while selecting some specific regions, such as the Asia Pacific (Mumbai), could also be due to temporary service errors or account-specific limitations. In this case, I would recommend checking the notifications from AWS and guiding the differences through course support.
