Hello. In this question, the statement “You can create VM6 in North Central US Region” is false.

Why is it not possible to create VM6 in the North Central US region when VM2 already has a status of ‘Stopped’ or ‘Deallocated’ meaning the vCPUs should not be consuming the space/quota?

    Hi AngelRa,

    Thanks for the feedback.

In the given scenario, you plan to create the virtual machines listed below “in the order they are listed.” This means that you will create VM4 (2 vCPU) first, then VM6(8 vCPU) last.

The current deployed VMs in the “North Central US” are:
    – VM1 (4 vCPU)
    – VM2 (8 vCPU)

Therefore, the total vCPU would be 12 of 15.

The main reason that VM6 can’t be created in North Central US is because VM4 (2 vCPU) would be created first, so the total vCPU will be 14 of 15 in the North Central US.

Take note that quota is calculated based on the total number of cores in use, both allocated and deallocated.

If you want to create VM6 with 8 vCPU, you would need to request a quota increase.
